Killer Tomatoes & Gran Fondos

The end of the summer is almost upon us which means that it's THE ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES...I mean Gran Fondos! If you have been training for such an event, I wish you sunshine, good sensations and no flat tires! One of my former ski racing coaches, Andrew Lambert, is also currently preparing for a summer's-end bike ride in Revelstoke, BC. The route is a 27km hill climb along the scenic road up Mt. Revelstoke.  I thought Andrew's training blog would a great way to introduce some of
the training that my Toque Torque Coaching clients utilize in their preparations for such events. I created a mock 60 day template for Andrew to use next year since he is already just 3 weeks from his goal. The idea was to show just how much rest is needed and a basic insight to a conducive weekly structure. He discussed this template on his training blog Steamer Bike Test Blog #1 and Blog #2.

Feel free to download this 60 Day Training Template before reading more about my complimentary training tips here. Of course if you are looking to take your cycling to the next level, please contact me about coaching. As the 2013 season approaches, it's a perfect time to transition to a new coach and I would be extremely happy to help you move towards your athletic aspirations with Toque Torque Coaching.
