BIKES: Exciting news!

Wow! There is no way I could have imagined the outpouring of support that BIKES has enjoyed in the past seven days.  From a constant bombardment of emails and phone calls from teachers looking to enroll their class; to donation platforms, entrepreneurs and public speakers contacting me about how best to develop my initiative and the seemingly unlimited sources of new information as how to best expand BIKES with the help of the Canadian Sport Center and other existing organizations who have been in need of a vehicle, a vehicle like BIKES.

Needless to say, I am very excited.

This past Wednesday also marked the second visit to Spring Creek in as many weeks, this time a grade 3 class. I developed a bike safety and dream goal brainstorming activity for the students which worked very well. Grouping the class into parties of six, each group was provided with a 6-8 word sentence broken into 6 pieces of paper. The group then has to unscramble the words, write down the question and then brainstorm and conclude a few answers. Once all the groups were down, a student shares that group's findings with the class, sparking our 10-15 share a story/discussion on bike safety and the pursuit of one's dream goals. It worked great!

This coming Monday I am off to Vancouver for two days to visit a whole stack of new schools! Fortunately, Team Exergy Pro Cycling has boxed up and send enough gifts to keep us going through the week! Team Exergy also also officially come on-board as a BIKES product sponsor and is responsible for providing a Team Exergy jersey to each school that becomes enrolled in BIKES! An amazing gesture! Thank you Team Exergy.

The Fantayk Co. Bike Shop in Whistler, Canada has also come on board as a product sponsor for BIKES, and I am very happy to announce that with their support, all of the BIKES 2013 videos will be powered by a very nice on-board video camera. There is a reason why I only work with Fanatyk Co for all my cycling needs in Whistler, whether on the road bike or the mountain bike; their relaxed, knowledgeable and excited staff help make any mechanical dilemma a breeze and their location at the heart of Whistler's village stroll provides easy access from either the downhill park or the road.
I am however still in search of a title sponsor for BIKES 2013. If you are interested, please see all of our program's details and a comprehensive sponsorship proposal here. I have been investing heavily in the start of this project and it's brand potential is strong. Over the past week, our online following has grown steadily with high-power followers signing up.
