BIKES: Episode #1

Sharpstein Elementary: 2 Assemblies + 2 Hrs = 470 Students!
So after a few rough weeks following a training crash during my first few days here in Palo Alto (concussion and stitches), I'm super stoked to release the first few video updates for the 2013 BIKES campaign. After a great run through Washington and Idaho in October, and with 4-5 more schools scheduled for my December trip back to Canada, total enrollment is already over 1200 students!

So be sure to follow along as I reconnect with the students throughout the year. Although I knew these first few months of 2013 would be slow on the fundraising front, the costs of expanding the program for 2012's single classroom to 2013's 41 classrooms has caught me out a bit. So if you would like to help bring BIKES to your community or support my initiative, please check out more details at the BIKES Foundation page or donate directly via the Chimp Fund/bikesbc. My goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the programs expenses.

In other news I am back on the bike at 100% and training is going really well. Now that I am settled here and getting into a groove, expect to see more updates at the blog as exciting announcements about Team Exergy and my own 2013 season will continue to surface in the coming weeks. Happy American Thanksgiving to my southern readers and enjoy the fresh powpow to those up in Canada. Definitely thinking of my old friends on the Canadian Alpine Ski Team this week as they launch their 2013 season at Lake Louise. Park those arcs!
